1. Yamaha P1, Small and Budget Piano Just For You

If you are looking for a piano that doesnt sounded too loud, cheap, and wont take up too much space, then Yamaha p1 is the right choice for you ! Yamaha P1 is designed for beginner pianists or those wanting an upright piano with a smaller footprint, say in a condo.

The Yamaha P1 is made in Japan Hamamatsu factory and the year of manufacturing is somewhere around 1970 base on the serial number. It comes with original 2 pedals, lacking of the practice pedal but we will normally modified it and convert into 3 pedals. The exterior is slightly bulky compare to Yamaha short piano models such as the LU80, M1A and also the latest made in Indonesia model JU109PE. So we can conclude P1 is the “daikor” of the console piano, but the piano tone will not lose to his younger sibling.

Although the P1 looks like a small piano, its sounded very very good surprisingly ! P1 normally comes with only 85 keys, not the standard 88 keys which the missing three keys is on the top treble part, which we dont really play on those keys. Therefore it doesnt make big difference with our without that 3 keys.

The p series pianos are middle range models with great quality and sound features. Despite their affordability , these pianos are built with Yamaha’s care and attention to detail, giving them excellent tonal reproduction.

The height is only 109cm but the sensitive quick responsiveness of the P1 keyboard and action mechanism enable pianist to fully express themselves. The spruce soundboard provides for that characteristic clear Yamaha sound. The tone is often sweet and rich which you can expect almost the same tone produced from YAMAHA U1 series.

The action is composite action which made of “all wood” material. Yamaha uses wood that has been seasoned for more than 7 years before transforming them into piano parts. Therefore this piano can last you a good 15 to 20 years without a problem!

3. Advantage

Cheap and affordable, all wood action can be very durable ! small and easy to keep.

4. Disadvantage

2 pedals only but dont worry normally we will convert it into three pedals, and 85 keys only but its ok you wont be using that extra 3 keys from the top treble part.
