Its extremely rare to meet such young, beautifully sounded Kawai piano that is made in Japan. It was made in year around 1999 – 2005. It was a new KU series that was revamped from the old one. I somehow notice that Kawai has run out of ideas to name their piano and instead of coming out with something new, they name it the same again to purposely confuse their customers. HAHA ! ok lets get into the review but this review will be slightly shorter because i cant find much info on the internet and i personally only seen a few units of KU10. One good news is that today is 1st of May and happy labor day everyone !

We also noticed that Kawai KU series or USX series always has a weird two tone color, notice that the fall board would be piano black but the book rak will be something between green and black. KU series has got ” Hand Finish ” stickers that make people feel ” EXPENSIVE”. Besides, it comes with Kawai original softfall system to prevent from snapping your finger accidentally.
The second thing that we notice they have done with the KU10, which was a really unique duplex scaling. In Layman terms, it creates extra harmonics, thicken the sound and strengthen the treble tone out of the piano. Its really rare to see duplex scaling in upright piano.
Moving to the top range, there is a lot more color up there than you typically get in an upright piano where normally it can certainly be clear and in tune, but feel shallow and glassy – Not in the case for KU10.
For a fraction of price, you get one of the greatest Kawai model that can last you easily another 15 to 20 years. It is a very good investment as we offer 70% buyback within 10 years.
So, all in all, the Ku10 from Kawai is a very capable instrument. Who is the ideal customer? I think the Ku10 is really an ideal instrument for up-and-coming students who are in need of a very reliable, very consistent instrument that can deliver a big range of tone and dynamics.
And of course, institutions who need an instrument that’s going to accommodate higher level players, whether that be students or professionals are also gonna get a ton of use under the Ku10. Thank you so much again for joining us for a discussion and review of what we’ve got here and if you wish to visit our showroom or warehouses, please do give us a call as this model is really rare and maybe by that time you called us, luck is on your side !
